Retribution is key for the Fontana Steelers.  Just three days after losing 1-0 to Kaiser H.S. in the Fohi Summer League Tournament.  The Steelers were back to their old ways: WINNING!

On July 30th, the Steelers traveled to San Bernardino Valley College for the first annual Valley Championship.  The steelers posted victories over Pacific, San Gorgonio, and Norco H.S.   They crushed Carter H.S 5-0 in the Semifinals.  In the Championship match; they faced Kaiser H.S. for the second time in one week; once again for a shot at a championship title.  This time, the results were different.   The Steelers scored first in the first half; leading 1-0 at Halftime; the Steelers had several chances to liquify the game but Kaiser responded by tying the game.  In overtime; Johnny Madrid and Joel Casarez hooked up for the game winning goal which ended up giving the Steelers the 2-1 overtime victory and their first championship of the summer.

Angel Valencia added "its better to finish the summer with a victory today and a championship showing we are number one."  Angel hopes that the summer preparations will have them ready for the upcoming season and a chance to vie for a third straight CBL Championship.

The game is also the last time that the Steelers suited up under the guidance and direction of Head Coach Edgard Vidrio, whom takes helm of the Norco H.S. Cougars next season.   Great job Steelers, and thank you for inspiring pride in your community.
