Success at SBVC a result of some Steeler Maroon

SBVC Men's Soccer team is having one of its finest seasons.  The Woverines don't look so blue in 2009; actually they might as well wear a little maroon this year.  Several players on the SBVC Mens Squad come from Fontana H.S.   Seven former FOHI players have followed Coach Vidrio over to SBVC where they now begin to dominate the collegiate ranks.  The Wolverines hold a 10-5-4 record going into the final stretch of the year.  That success is a result of the efforts of players such as: Saul Diaz, Christian Camacho, Erick Madrid, Luis Negrete, Antonio Salazar, Jose Perez, and Enrique Diaz.

So far, SBVC has beat State powers such as Santa Barbara College, LA Mission College, Glendale College, Cypress College, and Chaffey College to name a few; Luis Negrete is defining himself as one of the state's best man to man defenders.  Antonio Salazar and Christian Camacho are proving that they can succeed at the collegiate level.  Saul Diaz is proving once again how leathal he is with the ball, and Erick Madrid's touch is creating offensive opportunities for the team.  Finally Jose Perez and Enrique Diaz are proving that it is never too late to go to college and fulfill life long dreams.

Congratulations former Steelers, thank you for opening one of many collegiate doors for future steelers as well as for rectifying FOHI Soccer as the areas' best college preparatory high school East of the I 15 Fwy.

At Chaffey College, Jorge Vergara and Lalo Equihua are also making their mark in their final year at Chaffey.  Jorge has three goals and four assists; Lalo has two goals and one assists.

Saul Diaz:  11 goals, 4 assists
Erick Madrid: 4 goals, 8 assists
Antonio Salazar: 1 goal, 3 assists
Christian Camacho: 2 assists
Luis Negrete: 1 goal
